You're generating cheaper leads because you're reaching less qualified audiences — and Smart Bidding is optimizing toward whatever conversion signal you're feeding it, which may not be pipeline.
The diagnostic I run in Claude looks like this: I share three data points — this campaign's CPL trend over 8 weeks, ICP score distribution for leads generated this quarter vs. last, and MQL-to-SAO conversion rate for this campaign specifically. Then I ask Claude to identify whether the data is consistent with lead quality decay, and if so, what I'd expect to see in the next 30 days if I don't intervene.

The best use is forcing structure, not generating answers.
